Billund (Denemarken) -  De laatste keer dat ze samenwerkten, was in 2000, toen LEGO met Mickey Mouse sets op de markt kwam. Maar op de ToyFair is bekend geworden dat er weer een samenwerking zit aan te komen!

Disney, bekend van nieuwe versies van sprookjes en diverse kinderfilms, gaat samenwerken met LEGO. LEGO zal toegang krijgen tot het grote portfolio van Disney en Disney Pixar. Dat werd gisteren aangekondigd op de Toy Fair in New York. In begin 2010 zullen er LEGO en LEGO Duplo sets verschijnen van Toy Story, Cars en Prince of Persia.

Toy Story
Begin 2010 zullen kinderen de avonturen van Buzz Lightyear en Woody kunnen naspelen met LEGO geïnspireerd door de Toy Story franchise. Het Toy Story thema zal verkrijgbaar zijn in LEGO Duplo en LEGO System, zo is dit thema gericht aan kinderen van 2 tot 12. LEGO System producten gebaseerd op Toy Story en Toy Story 2 zullen gelanceerd worden in januari 2010, gevolgd in mei met de sets gebaseerd op de nieuwe animatie film Toy Story 3, gepland om te verschijnen in juni 2010. In juni 2010 mogen we ook het Toy Story LEGO Duplo thema verwachten.

Cars

Lightning McQueen zal verschijnen in het LEGO Duplo gamma waarin jonge bouwers creatief en verkennend kunnen spelen in de wereld van de Cars franchise. LEGO Duplo Cars zal scènes bevatten van Radiator Springs en de Piston Cup Championship racebaan, en zal ook de favoriete Cars personages bevatten zoals McQueen, Mater en Sally. Dit thema zal gelanceerd worden in juli 2010.

Prince of Persia

Een thema van LEGO System gebaseerd op  Walt Disney Pictures' en Jarry Bruckheimer Films' Prince of Persia: Sands of Time zal verschijnen in april 2010. De film, in de setting van het goed verkopend videospel met dezelfde naam, met Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina en Gemma Arterton beschrijft een episch verhaal van Prins Dastans die een kwadaardige heerser moet stoppen van het teweeg brengen van een zandstorm die de wereld kan vernietigen. De film zelf staat gepland voor mei 2010.

Toy Story

Children’s imaginations will go “To infinity and beyond” when, beginning in 2010, they will be able to re-create the adventures of Buzz Lightyear and Woody with LEGO toys inspired by the Toy Story franchise. Toy Story-themed construction sets will be available on both LEGO DUPLO and LEGO System platforms, building the adventure and fun for children ages 2-12. LEGO System products based on Toy Story and Toy Story 2 will launch in January 2010, to be followed in May by construction sets based on the new animated feature, Toy Story 3, scheduled to hit theaters in Disney Digital 3D June 2010. Toy Story-themed LEGO DUPLO products launch in June 2010.

Cars

Lightning McQueen will rev his engine at the starting line of a DUPLO portfolio that will have young builders creating and exploring the high-octane world of the Cars franchise. The Cars-themed LEGO DUPLO line will feature iconic scenes from Radiator Springs and the Piston Cup Championship raceway and will feature favorite Cars characters like McQueen, Mater and Sally. Cars-themed LEGO DUPLO products are scheduled to launch in June 2010.

Prince of Persia

A line of LEGO System construction toys based on Walt Disney Pictures’ and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, directed by Mike Newell and scheduled to release in May 2010 is also in development. The film, based on the best-selling video game franchise of the same name, stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina and Gemma Arterton in an epic tale of Prince Dastan’s struggle to stop an evil ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. Prince of Persia-themed LEGO products are scheduled to launch in April 2010.
