Londen (Groot-Brittannië) -  De Toy Retailers Association, dezelfde organisatie die LEGO in het jaar 1999 uitriep tot het Speelgoed van de Eeuw, heeft LEGO dit jaar verkozen tot constructiespeelgoed van het jaar!

Op 29 januari 2009 heeft de speelgoed industrie van het Verenigd Koninkrijk het jaarlijkse Industry Awards Gala Dinner gehouden in Indigo2 bij 02 in Oost Londen.

De Toy Retailers Association (TRA) – in samenwerking met de British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) hebben de winnaars van de Best Toy Shop Awards en Supplier of the Year
